Abstract:

This report documents the findings of a study undertaken to investigate batteries for use in electric vehicles. Batteries studied include lead-acid batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, lithium-ion electric vehicle batteries, and lithium-metal polymer electric vehicle batteries. Battery cost, performance, operating life, charging efficiency and availability were evaluated for each battery type.
