The expressed objectives of the peer exchange were to:

• Verify and/or improve research-related processes

• Increase effectiveness of research, development and technology transfer efforts to

best serve MODOT strategic goals and objectives

• Benchmark performance

Several common themes emerged from the discussions:

• Expand communications to improve effectiveness and knowledge of the research

process

• Importance of policy research

• Importance of implementation and measurement processes

• Enhance customer service and delivery strategies to meet diverse customer needs

• Efficiency and “the need for speed” to meet MoDOT needs
