• Abstract:
  The Government of South Australia, through the Office of Transport Policy and Planning and the Department of Road Transport, is reviewing the current role and future development of cycling in South Australia. As part of this review the Office of Transport Policy and Planning has commissioned this report. The purpose of this research has been to ascertain the levels of activity and administrative support for bicycling in other countries, as well as their bicycle policies, recent technical and innovative developments and trends. The objective has been to develop an information base of overseas trends and developments that can be applied to South Australia's own local issues and problems and from which policy makers and planners can learn.
