Abstract:

This report presents findings from three observation studies conducted by Opinion Research Corporation under a contract with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The report is organized into three sections. Each section includes the following: Introduction and Methodology; Summary; and, Detailed Findings. Study findings are presented in the following order: I Safety Belt Usage Among Drivers: Survey of Cars in the Traffic Population; II Use of Child Restraint Devices, Passenger Safety Belts, and Position of Passengers in Cars; and, III Motorcycle Helmet Usage.
