Abstract:The aim of UCSC's research program has been to attempt to bring a measure of standardization to the investigation of the acute toxicity of dispersants, oil, and their mixtures. Compilation of scientifically defensible, realistic, and easily comparable data, will allow direct assessment of different dispersants and their effects on the toxicity of various oils in a timely manner in the event of a spill. The Oil Pollution Research Grant Program was created by the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. This report contains the final reports, presented in two parts, for research performed under these grants.
