The Northeast Corridor Travel Survey was conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau for the Federal Railroad Administration to determine the impact of High Speed Rail Demonstration Projects operated between Washington-New York and New York-Boston. This report publishes data from the Survey on travel by members of households residing in the Northeast Corridor for the years 1968-1971. Profiles and indices were prepared which compare person-trip information within the Northcast Corridor. Specific travel markets within the Corridor were analyzed for growth trends and shifts resulting from the improved high speed rail transportation. Data are summarized, analyzed, and displayed in appropriate tables within this report.
