The following report investigates the experiences of transportation agencies in the deployment of Internet-based mapping portals based on GIS. It presents background information, a series of case studies, and a summary of conclusions given the experiences of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Interactive Mapping Program; New York State DOT's Oversize/Overweight Pre-Screening Tool; Georgia DOT's GeoTRAQS; Iowa DOT's Snow Plow Portal; and Kansas DOT's KGATE system
