  This report is part of a program of research designed to assist the National Park Service units of central Washington, DC, in ; their efforts to manage visitor mobility, reduce the negative environmental impacts of visitor transportation, and plan for the ; next generation of visitor transportation services. The approach taken is a review of successful practices in visitor ; transportation from five case-study cities: Boston, Savannah, Orlando, Philadelphia, and London. Each city offers lessons in ; two overlapping areas of interest: the design and operation of narrated visitor transportation services and broader policies and ; strategies for managing visitor transportation and mitigating its impact.
