The Screener Readiness Test was administered to 349 individuals at four major airports. Responses to verbal and image items were recorded and analyzed. Test items showed moderate difficulty and good reliability. The test was more difficult for those who were not native speakers of English but did not have adverse impact on racial or gender groups once this factor was controlled. A test structure and test scoring method is proposed that will allow valid and reliable assessment of initial screener readiness.
