Description:

This evaluation consisted of interviews with SCAN system users and evaluations of the manpower and material savings associated with the use of the system. It appears that use of a road weather information system can reduce the amount of deicing materials used as well as reduce overtime labor costs. Anecdotal information suggests that there have been fewer winter accidents after the instrumentation was installed at one site.
