The City of Brockton demonstrated downtown traffic coordination improvements by installing a traffic management system along Warren Avenue. The project upgraded traffic signal operations by replacing outdated traffic signal controllers at six locations. The system included GPS-based emergency vehicle preemption, transit signal priority, video detection, automated traffic signal performance measures, and equipment to support future connected vehicle applications. The project also included intelligent, sensor-based infrastructure to monitor air quality, pavement temperatures, and trash receptacles.
The accompanying dataset contains 3,382 CSV files covering May 27, 2025, through June 30, 2026, including traffic controller events, environmental observations and sensor averages, waste-receptacle records, and travel-time GPS observations.
