Field data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Runway Instrumentation Project at Denver International Airport, Colorado, were analyzed and compared to three-dimensional finite element model predictions. Data collected at the Denver test site included strains and deflections of the rigid pavement structure under typical in-service aircraft loads. A statistical analysis of the sensor data yielded mean values of key responses such as peak strain, peak deflection, and load transfer efficiency at transverse joints, which were then compared to results of the finite element analysis. The comparisons reported herein indicate overall good agreement between measured and predicted responses.
