Abstract:

The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) maintained its own thesaurus that was becoming out of date. Bob Sweet presents how the UMTRI adopted the Transportation Research Thesaurus, from mapping terms to programming, resulting in twice as many terms providing subject access for cataloging library resources.
