This program plan describes the studies and research which will result in an increase in airport capacity without a reduction in safety. Although earlier programs made progress in a member of areas, they were terminated before they could significantly impact operations. Due to the need for increased capacity at airports, and in response to recommendations of an industry task force, the Federal Aviation Administration has revitalized its wake vortex research. These revitalized activities are presented in this Wake Vortex Program Plan.
