Abstract:

Associate Dean and Professor Laura Saunders, with Simmons University's School of Library and Information Science, is the speaker for the August 2026 Transportation Librarians Roundtable. Saunders addresses how mis- and disinformation have infiltrated all parts of our lives, emphasizing the ways in which AI tools complicate the knowledge management landscape by increasing the ease with which false information is created and spread. After an overview of the mis/disinformation terrain, Simmons provides specific, research-based strategies for verifying information online and using AI tools effectively.
