Abstract:Undated pamphlet describing the mission, history, collections, and services of the U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters library. Prior to closing in 2020, the DOT Library supported the mission of the Department by providing DOT employees with information needed to accomplish their daily work and special assignments. The Library was formed in July, 1969, by consolidating the three Washington libraries - the Federal Highway Administration, the Coast Guard, and the Federal Aviation Administration. The collection of the Maritime Administration was added in 1981 and that of the Civil Aeronautics Board in 1985.
