We are here today to honor people in the Department of Transportation who last year stood out as "doers" - men and women who demand the most of themselves and who are determined to accomplish all that needs to be done. These people serve their government and the American people well. We all appreciate their talent and dedication. We prize their unique ability to combine individual drive with teamwork, for as I am sure they will acknowledge, their individual achievements reflect in large part the work and cooperation of many other people in the Department. This is the stuff of which success is made, and on which we can base our hopes for the future of this Department. We take great pride in pausing to honor these people today. They well deserve our compliments and the expression of gratitude embodied in these awards.
