An evaluation of the Active Beacon Collision Avoidance System (BCAS), Automated Traffic Advisory and Resolution Service (ATARS), and the Conflict Indicator Register (CIR) interface logic was conducted at the Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center. The evaluation was performed using dynamic simulation. The test bed for the evaluation was the Fast-Time Encounter Generator (FTEG). The FTEG was modified to simulate a single ATARS/Discrete Address Beacon System (DABS) site environment.
