Abstract:

The purpose of this project was to conduct research to determine the degree to which safety management systems have been implemented in a variety of aviation safety oversight systems outside the United States; to determine the basis and characteristics of those systems; and to what degree similarities and differences exist among those systems, as well as the nature of those differences and similarities.
