Rural regions thrive when local and tribal communities participate in the transportation industry, benefiting from improved infrastructure, expanded markets, and a higher quality of life for residents. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) employs its Every Day Counts program and others like it to help answer the demand for highway construction and remove barriers to people who want a career and to improve their communities.
