Abstract:

This study looks at transverse cracking in asphalt pavement from three viewpoints: 1. 3-R crack repair 2. Mix design 3. Maintenance Some possible alternatives are discussed to deter the formation of transverse cracks in new overlays through improved mix design and construction practices, through the use of fabrics and relief layers, and through the use of fog seals.
