The SOVIT system, developed at Texas Tech University, has been used to demonstrate the use of an innovative technology known as "in-situ soil vitrification" for soil stabilization purposes. The design and construction of the equipment was sponsored by TxDOT. This document contains a description of the systems and components contained in the SOVIT system. Instructions are given for the operation and maintenance of the equipment. Equipment storage and operational safety concerns are also provided.
