Abstract:This study analyzes grade separated ramps serving frontage roads to investigate operational and geometric requirements, to prepare guidelines on benefit and cost analysis and to propose warranting conditions. It has been observed that grade separated ramps can be a cost-effective solution to weaving on freeways created by contiguous on- and off-ramps, and for access to and from some high demand points on the frontage road.
