• Abstract:
  The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and the Texas Transportation Institute conducted a five-month study to determine the uses and analysis of traffic accident data. An additional objective was to evaluate the present accident data reporting system and to determine the capability of the current system and proposed systems to satisfy the accident data needs of the engineers in the Districts. This report presents the approach used in conducting the research, the findings of the study, and recommendations based on these findings.
