Abstract:This report summarizes the major aspects of the Urban Transportation Planning Database (UTPD) which is a transportation analysis tool developed to provide a common database for transportation information for use in the Houston area. General information is available from over 30 U.S. cities. This data provides for comparisons of approaches dealing with urban mobility and identifies trends which may be applicable to Houston. The database contains a wide variety of information collected and utilized by various transportation agencies in Houston. The database is designed and implemented using dBASE IV as the database software.
