Abstract:This study investigates the resistance forces acting on a cargo train under real operating conditions using experimental methods. By analyzing motion parameters such as speed, acceleration, and traction forces obtained through onboard measurement systems, the authors establish empirical resistance curves across various operational scenarios. The research highlights the influence of train weight, gradient, track curvature, and environmental factors on motion resistance. The study also compares measured resistance values with theoretical models, revealing deviations that underscore the importance of field validation in train resistance modeling. The findings provide critical insights for optimizing fuel consumption, enhancing traction efficiency, and informing design parameters for future rolling stock and rail operations.
