Abstract:This paper presents the operational aspects of the merging control equipment in use at the Telephone Road interchange on the inbound Gulf Freeway. The equipment is being used to evaluate several control theories but has not been installed for a period of time sufficient to allow a report on the comparison of theories at this time. This comparison of theories will be reported later. This paper presents only a discussion of the equipment operation and some general observations regarding the traffic operation under the different Modes.
