Stiffness of Asphalt Cements Evaluated by Compression
Objectives of the Study are to: (1) Investigate the asphalt cements used by the Texas Highway Department, (2) Establish specifications to assure the use of superior asphalts by the Department, and (3) Determine how the durability of asphalt cements in service can be improved. This report describes preliminary development of a procedure for evaluating the rheological and mechanical properties of asphalt cements at low atmospheric temperatures.
