Evaluation of Non-Metallic Fiber Reinforced Concrete Whitetopping
This final report presents the construction and early performance evaluation of whitetopping overlays on scarified asphalt pavement, constructed with non-metallic fiber reinforced concrete (NMFRC). The mixture proportions used, the quality control tests conducted for the evaluation of the fresh and hardened concrete properties, the procedure used for mixing, transporting, placing, consolidating, finishing, tining and curing are described. Periodic inspections of the ultra-thin whitetopping were done and this report includes the results of these inspections. The feasibility of using this NMFRC in the construction of ultra-thin whitetopping has been established. The new NMFRC with enhanced fatigue, impact resistance, modulus of rupture, ductility and toughness properties is particularly suitable for the construction of whitetopping overlays.
This final report presents the construction and performance evaluation of a new full depth pavement, constructed with a new type non-metallic fiber re...
Concrete pavement design is currently centered on steel reinforcement, whether that reinforcement be in theform of dowel bars, as is the case in joint...
