Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to establish one basic method for evaluating collision-warning devices, other collision-prevention devices, and collision-prevention procedures, with particular emphasis on daytime flight operations. It is believed that the results obtained in this study will help to fulfill the need for basic data on the conspicuity of present-day transport aircraft and that these data can be used as basic design criteria for anticollision devices.
