Abstract:The design of flexible pavements with geosynthetic-stabilized unbound base layers is evaluated using accelerated pavement testing. The evaluation also assesses use of KSGI as a parameter governing the performance of the pavement system. The major components of this project include: (i) Field monitoring of geosynthetic-stabilized and control pavement sections in relation to the long-term performance under traffic loads; (ii) Experimental evaluation of the performance of geogrid-reinforced pavement sections using reduced-scale Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) program; and (iii) Development of tools for the design of geosynthetic-stabilized pavements (GSPs).
