The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has utilized numerous simulation programs on the market, seen their evolution and noticed overlaps between them. To resolve confusion as to what each can do, this presentation mainly compares the European RAILSYS and OPENTRACK programs, but it also briefly mentions a number of other Train Performance and Line Capacity simulators, Energy and Fuel Saving tools, Network Modeling tools, Data Recorders, Crew Rostering tools, Dynamic Modeling and In-House simulation tools.
