Abstract:Paul Burley, Technical Services Librarian at the Northwestern University Transportation Library, covers two topics in this Transportation Librarians Roundtable. The first topic was creating authority records in RDA, and the second was creating a new books list in WorldCat. Authority records are important for maintaining the consistency of entities in our records in a standardized form and to establish relationships between other entities. RDA replaced AACR2 and has some different elements for authority records. The books list feature on WorldCat lets anyone create an account and use it to build lists of new books available at the library.
