Abstract:The National Transportation Library (NTL) undertook a major initiative in 2014 focusing on upgrading, stabilizing, and enhancing NTL’s digital repository platform. Requirements of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s Public Access Plan Memo, NTL’s expanded legislative mandate under MAP-21, and developments in the repository field have all come together to create momentum around considering upgrading our repository platform. A critically important component to a sustainable archive dedicated to long-term preservation is demonstration of trustworthiness. Mary Moulton, Digital Librarian with the NTL, discusses work in researching and gathering information in trustworthy repository certification.
