Abstract:

This Annual Report for fiscal year 2006 serves to document how the Maritime Administration supports the U.S. Department of Transportation’s goals of Reduced Congestion; Security, Preparedness and Response; Global Connectivity; and Environmental Stewardship; as well as the President’s Management Agenda goals for Organizational Excellence. This Annual Report fulfills the reporting requirements under Section 208 of the Merchant Marine Act of 1936, as amended. It also fulfills requirements of reporting to Congress on Cargo Preference activities, plus the requirements for reporting on Maritime Guaranteed Loan (Title XI) activities, as mandated in 2003.
