This technical release contains procedures for planning and design of open channels and related measures such as floodways. The chapter contents are general considerations, field surveys and plan layout, site investigations, design discharge determination, location and alignment design, hydraulic design, stability design, and environmental considerations (recreation, fishery, visual, and wildlife habitat).
