Abstract:The research has 2 objectives: to assess the effectiveness of methods of signing intersections to inform drivers of travel direction and prevent wrong way movements and, to develop guidelines for the use and placement of signs to prevent wrong way movements at typical intersections. The Final Report presents a stand-alone summary of the material contained in the 4 separate task reports submitted separately. This document is intended to present the highlights of activities under tasks A, 8, and C which support the traffic control device related guidelines. These guidelines recommended for use, focus on the application of one-way signs to prevent wrong way movements. This report is the fifth in a series of five.
