Abstract:Librarians from the National Transportation Library (NTL) present the 2023 Annual Report. Mary Moulton discusses new and forthcoming collections at the NTL, navigation improvements for ROSA P, web archiving content from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and the Science.gov refresh. Xin Wang talks about the NTL repository upgrade project Workroom 3.1. This project will improve the back end of the repository used for cataloging individual records and batch processing. Jesse Long shares news that the NTL joined the Federal ORCID Consortium and is updating the US DOT Public Access Plan. The Data Services Team also completed two major projects: implementing the CURATED Workflow to improve data curation strategies and a data rescue project of the TIUS/VIUS reports using ABBYY FineReader. Archivist/Historian Eden Orelove describes efforts on developing the US DOT Special Collections, the process of acquiring and sorting historic DOT materials, and the creation of a secure room for archives at DOT headquarters. Rosalyn Alleman shares updates about NTL Reference services, including an increase in inter-library loan fulfillment, performing in-depth literature reviews, and responding to questions from DOT staff. Alleman also coordinates the National Transportation Knowledge Network and provides outreach about NTL services.
