The traffic analysis capability maturity framework will assist State Departments of Transportation or regions in evaluating their current traffic analysis methods, processes, and technologies. It will suggest how these agencies could incrementally advance methods, processes, and technical approaches to better support the evaluation of traffic management strategies for freeways, arterials, and corridors. The framework will also assist in advancing to a future state of advanced analysis, modeling, and simulation to evaluate fully active and integrated transportation system management, and other emerging technologies such as connected and automated vehicles.
