• Abstract:
  The work reported herein was a task in the program to measure the response of tunnels to earthquakes. The objective was to install digital recording strong motion instrumentation at the Caldecott Tunnel in Oakland, California. The report includes a description of the tunnel, the geologic setting of the region and geology at the subsurface instrument site, instrument locations and descriptions, and specifications, and details of the digital recording system. The installation procedure as well as problems encountered during installation are summarized in the final portions of the report.
