The document provides standards for the preparation, publication, and distribution of scientific and technical reports issued by DOT and DOT contractors The standards do not apply to technical or training manuals, Journal articles brochures or pamphlets. The document contains guidelines for report formats, title pages and covers, metric conversions, use of illustrations and physical layout requirements. Report review and acceptance procedures are specified, as are the rules for assignment of document numbers and distribution of accented reports.
