Abstract:

This new goal of TOWARD ZERO DEATHS should be the central focus of the 2009 Reauthorization of the “Safe,

Accountable, Flexible, and Efficient Transportation Equity Act – A Legacy for Users” (SAFETEA-LU). We include 38

specific legislative recommendations that will help us get there. ATSSA members

believe that, when enacted, these recommendations will contribute significantly in

helping attain this goal and make our nation’s roadways safer.
