Abstract:All information concerning Iowa traffic crashes was taken from report forms provided by investigating officers and drivers involved in crashes. All statistics are gathered and calculated by the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Office of Driver Services.
National statistics are obtained from “Traffic Safety Facts 1997” published by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
