In an effort to improve Florida’s Official Transportation Map, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) commissioned a study of Florida’s Official Transportation Map users. The goal was to identify potential changes that can be used to help design and improve the overall usability of the map. The Florida State University Survey Research Laboratory staff designed a survey to accompany the 2013 Florida Official Transportation Map. Feedback was solicited from the travelers of Florida’s highway system as well as other government agencies and offices who are contributors of data represented in the map. The report describes the methodology used and contains the survey instruments, letters of invitation, tabulated results, and open-ended responses. A database containing the results was created for the Florida Department of Transportation staff so they could analyze and evaluate the suggestions made by map users.
