FDOT began design of a Surface Transportation Security and Reliability Information System Model Deployment in May 2003. This model deployment focuses on enhancing the security and reliability of the surface transportation system through the widespread availability of real-time information. The model deployment will examine how security and reliability can be improved under several situations or scenarios. The Final Work Plan was developed to guide the overall sequence of activities and management approach for the model deployment. It identifies all of the organizations involved in the model deployment as well as contractual and other working arrangements in them. It addresses systems engineering and software acquisition practices to be followed and includes a project schedule of all model deployment tasks.
