Abstract:PKF's approach to study the economic impacts of the Northern Central Rail Trail (NCRT) involved the investigation of seven subject categories: tourism, property values, commercial uses, local resident expenditures, public sector expenditures, qualitative factors, and overall benefits. As expressed in the methodology section of this report, a major contributor toward the conclusions of this study was the use of three surveys to directly assess residents', trail users', and businesses' attitudes toward the resource. Accordingly, the basis of this report summary is the presentation of the survey questions with aggregate responses. In addition, appropriate cross tabulations and extrapolations are presented within the body of the text.
