Abstract:

Since late 2005, The Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) has undergone a Reassessment to ensure it best meets the needs of its users and customers in 2010 and beyond. The Reassessment was intended to respond to current and future business needs, address any new data needs in the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) legislation, capitalize on changing technology and where possible address resource constraints and institutional changes. This report summarizes the changes to HPMS.
