Abstract:This report highlights the experiences, successes, challenges, and lessons learned of two national peer communities (the city of Lone Tree, Colorado and the city of Rancho Cordova, California) and two local peer communities (the city of Bellevue, Washington and the city of Shoreline, Washington) in urbanizing their communities around new light rail transit stations. The peer exchange was held for the benefit of the city of Federal Way, Washington. This event was sponsored by the Transportation Planning Capacity Building (TPCB) Peer Program, which is jointly funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
