  The purpose of this report is to document the preparation of the 1994 Table VM-1, including data sources, assumptions, and estimating procedures. Table VM-1 describes vehicle distance traveled in miles, by highway category and vehicle type. VM-1 depicts national travel for the current year and revised travel estimates for the previous year. This information is segregated by passenger cars, motorcycles, buses, other two-axle four-tire vehicles, and trucks on the rural interstate system, other rural arterial, other rural roads, urban interstate system, and other urban streets.
