Abstract:This report summarizes the results of a 2-day Peer Exchange on Pavement Management held in Madison, Wisconsin on August 24-25, 2010. The participating states include the following: Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Representatives from each of the DOTs and their FHWA Division counterpart attended the meeting. The report includes a summary of the states’ practices and a discussion on each of the following topics: Using pavement management data to support decision making; Using pavement management data for short-and long-term planning; Establishing links with pavement preservation and maintenance and operations; Developing performance models and performance measures using pavement condition information; Economics of pavement management - cost effectiveness and cost savings; Communicating and marketing the importance of pavement management. This report summarizes the discussions at the meeting.
